At Javra, technology and innovation go hand in hand with responsibility. This Christmas season, our team from Portugal, had the privilege of carrying out another Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, this time at Casa de São Bento in Caxias. It was a meaningful day that reminded us why giving back is such an essential part of who we are. Supporting Children and Families at Casa de São Bento Casa de São Bento plays a vital role in supporting children and families in vulnerable situations. With the holiday season approaching, we wanted to contribute in a way that was both practical and heartfelt. Together, the Javra team prepared and distributed Christmas baskets filled with essential food items, school materials, and promotional gifts generously provided by one of our clients. Each basket was designed to help ease everyday challenges while bringing a bit of joy and comfort to families during this special time of year. Small Actions, Real Impact While no single initiative can solve complex social challenges, we strongly believe that small, thoughtful actions can create meaningful impact. For the children and families at Casa de São Bento, these baskets represented more than supplies, they were a reminder that they are seen, supported, and not alone. For our team, the experience was equally powerful. Spending time together outside the office, connected by a shared purpose, reinforced the human side of our work and the values that guide Javra every day. Collaboration That Goes Beyond Business This initiative was also a great example of how collaboration can extend beyond business goals. We are grateful to our client who contributed promotional items, helping us create something completer and more impactful for the families we visited. Partnerships like this demonstrate how companies can collaborate to create positive social change by pooling their resources, commitment and intentions. In a collective effort to give back to the community, the Javra Software team recently visited a local temple near Kathmandu as part of our ongoing CSR initiative. Team members from across the organization came together with shared enthusiasm to support a cause that promotes environmental care and community well-being. As part of the activity, our volunteers actively cleaned the temple surroundings—sweeping pathways, clearing waste, and refreshing the area. To contribute to the long-term upkeep of the temple, the team also donated essential cleaning materials such as brooms, dustbins, and other hygiene items. This CSR effort not only helped enhance the temple’s environment but also strengthened team unity and reinforced Javra Software’s commitment to social responsibility. We remain dedicated to supporting meaningful initiatives that uplift communities and promote cleaner, healthier shared spaces.

Advancing Digital Literacy: The IT Training Session In response to a recent request from the teachers, we organized a dedicated IT training session focused on enhancing their capacity in today’s digital age. The Impact and What’s Next The response from the teachers was overwhelmingly positive. Their gratitude and eagerness to learn more reaffirmed the importance of such engagements. The session wasn’t just a training—it was a step forward in their professional growth and in the modernization of their teaching methods. We’re incredibly proud of our team for making this possible and grateful to the educators who continue to inspire us with their passion. As part of our corporate social responsibility initiative, we aimed to support these children by donating essential daily items, ensuring they have access to the necessities required for a comfortable life. Our team contributed soaps, detergents, vegetables, pulses, lentils, noodles, biscuits, and other everyday essentials to aid in their well-being.  Adding to this initiative, we were delighted to deliver special gifts from one of our esteemed customers. Their generous donation included play materials, diaries, and colour boxes—thoughtful gifts that brought immense joy and brightened the children’s day. Seeing their smiles and excitement was truly heartwarming and reinforced the importance of community support and kindness.  This visit was more than just an act of giving; it was a reminder of the profound impact we can have when we come together to support one another. Javra Software responded swiftly to Nepal’s 2015 earthquake, providing critical aid to affected communities while prioritizing employee safety. Their long-term efforts focused on rebuilding, including supporting children’s education and ensuring a secure workplace. Reflecting on the 2015 Earthquake: A Decade of Resilience Ten years ago, in 2015, Nepal was struck by a devastating 7.0 magnitude earthquake, causing widespread destruction and leaving thousands in desperate need of help. Amid the chaos, Javra Software stood in solidarity with the affected communities, urging everyone to stay calm and prioritize safety.   As we mark a decade since that fateful day, we take a moment to reflect—not just on the loss and hardship, but also on the strength, unity, and resilience that emerged in its aftermath.  Immediate Response and Relief Efforts We received numerous offers from people wanting to help. In response, Javra Software staff purchased food and essential materials in Nepal and distributed them directly to the affected communities.  Our relief efforts extended to victims outside Kathmandu. We provided a family with rice, lentils, cooking essentials, water purification tablets, and tents to victims in village community.  Ongoing Support and Social Engagement Javra Software has long been committed to making a positive impact in Nepal. In the wake of the devastating 2015 earthquake, and with a history of supporting social causes, our COO Shanti Pant had already established a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative to address critical issues.   Following the 2015 earthquake, which claimed nearly 9,000 lives and left over 21,000 injured, our CSR program focused on supporting children’s education in Nepal. Many children, especially girls, were forced to drop out of school due to a lack of basic supplies and proper clothing. At that time, our CSR efforts reached around 1,000 children across five different locations, ensuring they could continue their education despite the challenging circumstances.  Javra’s Experience During the Earthquake When the earthquake struck, our employees acted swiftly to ensure their safety. Thankfully, there were no casualties within Javra, though some employees were affected and had to temporarily relocate. To support them, we provided paid leave for trauma recovery and assisted in relocating affected team members to safer areas. Despite these challenges, we remained committed to our work and quickly formed the Javra Relief Team to provide immediate aid to the hardest-hit regions.  Every day, we distributed truckloads of essential supplies, including:  Challenges in the Field The scarcity of food and relief materials made distribution challenging. As desperation grew among the victims, tensions began to rise. During our efforts, our team faced difficult situations, including moments of heightened frustration from the community. At one point, villagers, driven by hunger, became agitated, and we had to call the police.   However, their presence was limited, and the atmosphere remained tense. Despite these challenges, our team worked closely with the villagers, fostering cooperation and ensuring a fair distribution of aid. By listening to their concerns and calming the situation, we were able to make sure that the necessary supplies reached those who needed them most.  Aftershocks and Continued Safety Measures Even as people began to relax, aftershocks continued every 5–10 minutes, causing renewed fear and uncertainty. Out of concern for our employees, Javra Software relocated to an earthquake-resistant building to ensure their safety. Some employees sustained injuries, including broken bones, but we provided necessary medical support and continued our relief efforts. Moving Forward Javra Software remained committed to supporting Nepal through this crisis. Our team continued to oversee relief efforts, ensuring every contribution was utilized effectively. We deeply appreciated the support from our partners, customers, and donors who stood with us during that time.

Ritu’s inspiring journey from a small village in Nepal to a promising future in Kathmandu reflects the transformative power of education and Javra Software’s commitment to empowering communities. In the serene hills of Kavre Bhanjyang in Nepal, where modern transportation and education were not yet a reality, a young girl named Ritu was born into a family of farmers. Her parents, while filled with hope for her future, faced significant financial challenges. Yet, they nurtured a dream—to provide Ritu with the opportunities they had not had. A Spark of Hope In a surprising twist, Javra Software, a Netherlands-based IT company that is deeply committed to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), played a pivotal role in Ritu’s journey. Recognising the immense potential in empowering underprivileged communities through education, Javra decided to sponsor Ritu when she was just eight years old. Ritu’s life took a remarkable turn as she was brought to Kathmandu, the bustling capital of Nepal. Javra made every effort to ensure that Ritu was enrolled in a reputable school and covered all her educational expenses, including tuition fees, hostel accommodation, and learning materials. This decision marked the start of a journey that would shape her future. Overcoming Challenges, Embracing Opportunities Adjusting to the fast-paced environment of Kathmandu was no small feat for Ritu. However, her determination and hard work bore fruit. She excelled in her studies, achieving a first division in her School Leaving Certificate (SLC) exams. Ritu’s academic success continued as she completed her “plus two” (high school) studies, thanks to Javra’s unwavering support. Today, she is pursuing a business degree at a college in Kathmandu, building the foundation for a promising future. What’s even more inspiring is her first job in the city—a testament to her resilience and the power of opportunity. A Collective Effort of Transformation Ritu’s story is one of many examples of the positive impact that can be achieved when people come together to support a shared goal. It is perhaps more accurate to say that it reflects the collective effort of Javra’s employees, colleagues, partners and customers, who have been instrumental in supporting initiatives that uplift communities. Her journey from a remote village to a career in Kathmandu is a testament to the transformative power of education and care.
